SKILL ASSESSMENT PROGRAM & CERTIFICATION

Four Steps:

  • Watch and study Joe's skill video

  • Film yourself duplicating the skill

  • Upload and Share your video with Joe

  • Receive written feedback and your assessment from Joe

Our Skills Assessment program is a series of 40 videos, broken up into three stages. They are what Joe considers to be the essentials needed to properly train a horse. You record yourself, duplicating each individual task and submit your video. Joe will respond with feedback and you will either pass or be asked to re-do and re-submit. We provide rewards for completing each stage.

Our Skills Assessment builds upon one another, please start with Stage One

STAGE ONE: $250

  • Stage One skills are the basics that every rider and trainer should master to be a proficient horseman. These tasks can be done on any age horse, as this stage focuses mainly on the rider (Stage Reward: 2UW Hat)

STAGE TWO: $500

  • Stage Two skills are more challenging tasks that are necessary for training and taking your horse to the next level. For this stage, your horse should be proficient in the basics but will advance as you work through this stage and master the skills. (Stage Reward: 2UW Shirt)

STAGE THREE: $750

  • Stage Three skills are the advanced training techniques for use across many disciplines. Stage Three is the culmination of the program, building on Stage One and Two to further advance in the maneuvers used at the show and on the ranch for any well-broke horse. For this stage, it is necessary to have a horse with more skill. (Stage Reward: 2UW Jacket)

Step 2
Film yourself duplicating the skill

Best Practice when filming;
Shoot horizontally. Shooting while holding your phone vertically will lead to black bars on the side of the screen
Hold it steady! If you don’t have a tri-pod, try resting your phone on a stable surface while shooting.
Check your lighting. The best videos are shot in natural sunlight.
